Neill Blomkamp’s “Alien” movie on hold

PanARMENIAN.Net - Alien 5 is officially on hold for the time being, thanks to the Prometheus sequel, Digital Spy reports.

Neill Blomkamp took to Twitter to reveal that Ridley Scott's Alien: Paradise Lost takes precedence, and fans will have to wait a little longer to see Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn back in action.

However, the Chappie director won't be using his free time to put his feet up. He will be working on other things until he gets the go-ahead for Alien 5.

Scott is set to helm the Prometheus sequel - which is a prequel to the Alien films - with Naomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender reprising their roles.

Filming is set to kick off next year with a 2017 release pencilled in.
