"Sherlock: The Abominable Bride" trailer features Benedict Cumberbatch (video)

PanARMENIAN.Net - Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and John Watson (Martin Freeman) get reacquainted in a new teaser for a "Sherlock" holiday special, AceShowbiz reports. A mutual friend introduces the two to each other while the title character is examining what looks like a mummy in a dim-lit room.

Holmes tests Watson's reflexes and is satisfied with them. Watson, meanwhile, lets Holmes know his skills by saying, "I'm an army doctor which means I can break every bone in your body while naming them."

Titled "Sherlock: The Abominable Bride", the upcoming special is set in 19th century London. Plot details are still scarce, but executive producer Steven Moffat once teased, "Ghost stories work better in a Victorian setting. Other than that it's remarkably similar," implying that the special would be spooky.

Amanda Abbington, Rupert Graves and Una Stubbs also return as Mary Morstan, Inspector Lestrade and Mrs. Hudson respectively.

The special will premiere January 1, 2016 in both the United Kingdom and the United States. It will also get a theatrical release in more than 500 theaters in the U.S. and the UK on January 5 and 6.
