8th Return Classical Music Festival closes in Yerevan

Yerevan's Aram Khachatryan Concert Hall hosted the 8th Return Classical Music Festival featuring five concerts dedicated to the Armenian Genocide centennial.

The music event that launched on October 19 was organized by Gallery of Arts Foundation (president Mariam Shahinyan, director Garik Nazaryan) under the auspices of Armenia's First Lady Rita Sargsyan and supported by the Ministry of Culture. VivaCell-MTS, the General Partner of the festival, has allocated a total of AMD 99.300.000 for organizing the annual event from 2007 to 2015.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of VivaCell-MTS’ successful operation, the company issued a limited number of medals to honor individuals who contributed to imporvement of social situation in the country. Honoring the Return Classical Music Festival for uniting musicians of different nationalities, VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian bestowed the Ten Years of Friendship medal on Mariam Shahinyan and Garik Nazaryan.

In the frames of the festival, Return, a quintet of musicians representing different countries and nationalities was formed, set to perform not only in Armenia, but also abroad.

In the course of eight years the festival has featured a number of renowned musicians including Sergey Kachatryan (violin, Germany), Suren Bagratuni (cello, USA), Vahan Martirosyan (piano, France), Vahagn Papyan (piano, Israel), Vardan Mamikonyan (piano, France), Levon Muradyan (cello, Portugal), Varduhi Khachatryan (mezzo-soprano, Switzerland), Juliet Galstyan (mezzo-soprano, Switzerland), to name a few.
