Microsoft rolls out 1st major Windows 10 update

PanARMENIAN.Net - Just as you started getting used to Microsoft's latest OS, it's all change - the first major Windows 10 update has been rolled out, Digital Spy said.

OK, so it's not going to bring in an all-new look and feel to the platform, but with Cortana improvements, new Edge features and a raft of business-centric add-ons, it's a pretty serious patch.

With boot times set to increase by almost 30% as part of the update, those installing the software refresh will also be able to book an Uber using Cortana.

The voice-activated PA is also landing in a number of new countries, including Japan, Canada, Australia and India.

"Today, we reach our next milestone as the first major update to Windows 10 is now available for PCs and tablets," Terry Myerson, Microsoft's Executive Vice President of the Windows and Devices Group announced.

"With this update, there are improvements in all aspects of the platform and experience, including thousands of partners updating their device drivers and applications for great Windows 10 compatibility. Windows 10 also starts rolling out to Xbox One today and select mobile phones soon."

If you're already running Windows 10, the new update will be available to you as a free install, Digital Spy said.
