Daniel Radcliffe gets star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

PanARMENIAN.Net - Daniel Radcliffe was presented with a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, November 12. The 26-year-old actor received the star four years after the final installment of the "Harry Potter" movie franchise, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II", was released. The British actor looked dapper in a gray gingham check suit. Daniel completed his look with black tie and shoes of the same hue. He looked all smiles while receiving the 2,565th star on the Walk of Fame which is situated in front of the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Before Daniel delivered his acceptance speech, President and CEO at Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Leron Gubler announced, "We hereby declare this Daniel Radcliffe Day in Hollywood." "Harry Potter" director Christopher Columbus and "@midnight" host Chris Hardwick also joined the actor onstage.

"Thank you for the star," Daniel said in his acceptance speech. "It is incredibly surreal and slightly overwhelming." He said that a few months ago he walked around the Walk of Fame and admitted that he became overwhelmed because of the names of other stars he would join. "It's a very long way," he dished on his career journey in Hollywood prior to receiving the star.

During an interview with Variety, Daniel confessed, "We [British] have a national embarrassment about people saying nice things about us, so I was taken aback at first but then I had a real sense of gratitude. Only about 20% of people who work in film and television end up on the Walk of Fame." He continued, "It's kind of amazing. I don't know if they remove these things, but no matter how badly I mess up, they can't remove it."

Regarding his future career in the film industry, Daniel said he wanted to go behind the cameras. "I would like to direct at some time," he admitted. "I've worked with some amazing directors and learned from them, watched them, their different styles and would like to use it."
