"Fargo" hit crime drama series picked up for 3rd seasonNovember 24, 2015 - 16:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - "Fargo" is here to stay. FX has picked up a third season of the crime drama series, which is loosely based on the Coen brothers' 1996 crime film. The early renewal was announced on Monday, November 23, AceShowbiz reports. The new season order comes as no surprise as the show has earned rave reviews from critics. The first season earned 18 Emmy nominations and won three of them. While it's not a ratings juggernaut like other FX series like "American Horror Story", "Fargo" has been a steady performer with the second season averaging 2.61 million viewers so far. "Year two of 'Fargo' is an extraordinary achievement and, given Noah Hawley's masterful storytelling, we can't wait to see where the third, all-new version of Fargo takes us," said FX Networks and FX Productions president of programming Eric Schrier, who announced the pickup alongside fellow president Nick Grad. "Our thanks to Noah, Warren, Joel and Ethan, John and our partners at MGM Television for making Fargo such a memorable and rewarding journey." Creator/executive producer Noah Hawley will be back for the third season, and so will executive producers Joel and Ethan Cohen, Warren Littlefield and John Cameron. Cast and setting for the third chapter have not been announced yet. The second season features a brand new cast ensemble and a different case from season 1.
