Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Ros to headline London's Citadel FestNovember 24, 2015 - 17:00 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Amazing news for Sigur Ros fans - the 'Hoppipola' Icelandic heroes have announced that they'll be headlining London's Citadel Festival and performing new material in 2016, Gigwise reports. “It's going to be awesome. Really upping their game since Takk when they became world-renowned for their live shows and becoming ever-more life-changing with Heima, Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, Valtari and Kveikur, we're pretty excited to see the post-punk icons back in the flesh again rather than just relying on memory and Youtube,” Gigwise said. “We are pleased to announce that we are playing Citadel next summer," say the band in a statement. "In the spirit of adventure, all we can say right now is it’s going to be different. In addition to playing all the songs you know and love, there will be new unreleased songs, a new show and more… Trust us on this one.” Organised by Communion and Soundclash, Citadel enjoyed a successful innagural year in 2015 with huge performances from Ben Howard, Bombay Bicycle Club, Anna Calvi and many more - this year boasting an even better 'kaleidoscope of onsite experiences and activities', with yoga, workshops, great food and local breweries. Citadel Festival will take place in London's Victoria Park on Sunday 17 July 2016, with tickets on pre-sale from 9am on Thursday 26 November, before going on general sale from 9am on Tuesday 1 December.
