Raspberry Pi's latest computer costs just $5November 26, 2015 - 21:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Now you can score yourself a computer for as little as $5 thanks to the latest offering from the Raspberry Pi Foundation, Digital Spy reports. The tiny PC has gone on sale in the UK and U.S. at the usual outlets and is also being given away for free with the December issue of the puntastic MagPi magazine. A free PC attached to the cover of a magazine! What an age we live in. The Raspberry Pi Zero is a low-fat Pi with a Broadcom BCM2835 application processor, 512MB of RAM, a microSD card slot, a mini-HDMI socket on board. Measuring in at 65mm x 30mm, the machine is smaller than a credit card, but is capable of doing things that defy its tiny proportions, like supporting 1080p at 60 frames per second and running games like Minecraft. The Zero hosts an identical pin layout to the larger models, hooking up to accessories via micro-USB sockets, and is said to be 40% faster than the original Raspberry Pi. As there are no standard USBs or ethernet ports, a powered USB hub is required to connect peripherals to the Zero, potentially bumping the cost up. Many retailers are bundling microSD cards and adapters with the computer for extra, but you're unlikely to find a cheaper computer anywhere.
