Muse tipped to headline Glastonbury Festival 2016

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Sun has reported that Muse will headline the Saturday night at the Glastonbury Festival 2016, despite previously reporting that Adele would top the Pyramid Stage bill, Gigwise reports.

A source for The Sun said: "Muse are a Glastonbury no-brainer for a headline booking. They know what it takes to put on a huge show and there's no bigger stage than the Pyramid. Matt and the boys have a huge back catalogue that will be brilliant for a Saturday night set."

The Sun also claims that Coldplay and Foo Fighters will headline the other two nights: "This year's line-up is as rock and roll as the Eavises could have hoped for. They were keen to book the headliners early and they’ve done exactly that."

Muse have headlined the Pyramid Stage twice before, in 2004 and 2010. They are proven crowd-pleasers who will surely create a Glastonbury setlist to remember.

Contradicting this new information, however, Glastonbury's booker Martin Elbourne recently claimed to be in the final stage of discussions to have Adele make her Glastonbury debut. "There's lots of talk about Adele and it's in there in the mix," Elbourne told Loaded magazine.

"Adele is in a situation in her career where frankly she can do whatever the hell she likes. Hopefully it will happen and it still needs to be confirmed. She's not into festivals but obviously, every promoter in the world wants to get her so fingers crossed, we are hoping it's going to happen."

Next year's Glastonbury Festival will take place between 22-26 June 2016, with Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, Blur, The Stone Roses and Daft Punk among the bookmakers' favorites to headline the Pyramid Stage on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
