"Up to this moment there is no final decision on acquiring "ArmenTel's" 10% stock, which belong to the Armenian government", reported the company's vice-president on corporative development Vladimir Ryabokon on December 6. In his words, surely for "VympelCom" it is very important to own 100% stock of ArmenTel, but currently this issue is in discussion stage. He pointed out that during the last period "ArmenTel" had become the biggest acquirement of "VympelCom" from the point of view of profit and quantity of subscribers, in this case plus the factor of fixed communication. Vladimir Ryabokon also declared, that In the issue of demonopolization of Armenia's communication the company did not see real threats for himself. He also added, that there existed a principle agreement. In his words, currently with the government of Armenia the company holds corresponding consultations, during which a date will be approved to prepare Armenia's communication for demonopolization. "We do not see anything negative in competition, since this factor allows us to relax and develop the provided services, to improve the quality of communication. Finally consumers will win from competition and by our work we aim exactly this", pointed out Ryabokon, IA Regnum reports.
