In the Derek Cianfrance-directed adaptation of M.L. Stedman’s novel of the same name, Fassbender and Vikander play newlyweds Tom and Isabel Sherbourne, who take care of the lighthouse on a remote island off the coast of Australia. The couple is faced with a moral dilemma when a boat washes ashore with a dead man and a two-month-old infant. When they decide to raise the child as their own, the consequences of their choice become devastating. Rachel Weisz also stars.
