FilmRise acquires Julie Delpy’s romantic comedy “Lolo”

PanARMENIAN.Net - FilmRise has acquired the U.S. distribution rights from Wild Bunch to Julie Delpy’s romantic comedy “Lolo”, Variety reports.

Delpy directed from her own script and starred in “Lolo,” which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and had its North American premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. It’s slated for release on March 11.

Delpy portrays a 40-year-old workaholic in the fashion industry who falls for a provincial computer geek, played by Dany Boon, while on a spa retreat with her best friend. But her teenage son Lolo (Vincent Lacoste) is determined to wreak havoc on the couple’s fledging relationship.

“I am beyond ecstatic that ‘Lolo,’ a film that means so much to me, will be released theatrically in the U.S.,” Delpy said. “As a filmmaker and actress, I have put my heart and soul into this film. I am so happy that I can share ‘Lolo’ with American audiences.”

FilmRise’s acquisitions include “Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans,” Chinese box office hit “Monster Hunt” and Alex Gibney’s Scientology documentary “Going Clear.”
