HP “getting back on the Windows Phone horse”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Microsoft is one of the few manufacturers still making Windows smartphones, but one of its oldest hardware partners has been tipped to pledge renewed support to the OS, Digital Spy reports.

German website Dr Windows has brought word of a Windows 10 phablet called the HP Falcon, which is expected to spread its wings in 2016.

The Falcon is said to be a high-end device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 3GB of RAM and a hefty 5.8-inch 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution display on board.

Aimed at power users, the handset is also mooted to come with a 20-megapixel camera on the rear and a 12-megapixel camera on the front.

HP was around during the early days of Windows Mobile, supporting the operating system with its iPAQ range of devices, but its focus has always been on computing over mobile.

The firm has been tipped to announce the Falcon at the Mobile World Congress in February.
