Dave Grohl rocks “Ace of Spades” with Metallica, Slayer

Dave Grohl was a surprise guest at Dimebash, the annual celebration of late Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell, and at the Los Angeles gig, the Foo Fighters frontman - along with Pantera singer Phil Anselmo, Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo - joined together onstage to pay tribute to another late metal legend: Lemmy Kilmister, Rolling Stone reports.

The one-off supergroup teamed up for a ferocious, searing rendition of Motörhead's "Ace of Spades", with Anselmo providing his best Lemmy growl for the performance. The Dimebash tribute to Lemmy came nearly two weeks after Grohl and Trujillo delivered touching eulogies at Kilmister's memorial service in Los Angeles.

"I think what everybody has always known or at least learned today is that Lemmy was not only that kind of… whiskey-drinking rock and roll star, but he had the biggest heart and set such a great example because he was so kind to everyone," Grohl said of Kilmister at the January 9th service.

The 2016 Ride for Dime Dimebash, which raised funds the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout cancer fund, also featured guest appearances by members of Alice in Chains, Type O Negative, Danzig, Machine Head and many more.
