In 2006 Armenia Actively Cooperated with NATO and CSTO
In 2006 the first two-year stage of Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) was launched. As it is mentioned in the RA MFA annual report on Armenia's foreign activities in 2006, the IPAP commission, which is responsible for realizing the program, during the last year has organized 8 sessions. The first interim estimation stage of IPAP realization was carried out on May. On June with 26+1 format took place the North Atlantic Council-Armenia joint session, in which participated the foreign and defense ministers of Armenia. During 2006 in the framework of IPAP realization NATO delegations visited Armenia, including Robert Simons, the special representative of NATO Secretary General in the South Caucasus and Central Asia. Alongside, the NATO informational center began its work in Yerevan. The international consultation group, formed by the Alliance, helped to work out the RA National Security Strategy project.

The report also underlines that in 2006 Armenia actively has participated in the works of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Particularly, Nikolay Bordyuzha, the Secretary General of CSTO, visited Armenia on March. Armenia also participated in the CSTO summit in Minsk, as well as sessions of MFA, DM Councils and Committee of National Security Secretaries of CTSO member states.
