Twitter testing GIF button on its mobile appsFebruary 5, 2016 - 14:23 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Get the dancing cat troupe ready - Twitter is testing a GIF button for all of your video-posting needs on mobile. The social network hasn't formally announced the feature, but a quick search for 'GIF button' on there reveals that dozens of users have received it, Digital Spy said. The new button, which appears between the Photo and Poll icons when a new post is being composed, opens up an archive of ready-made GIFs. Twitter appears to be following in the footsteps of Facebook and Yahoo, which offer GIF support in the messaging apps via Giphy and Tumblr. The microblogging platform has been undergoing sweeping changes since CEO Jack Dorsey began his second stint at the helm. Last week, Twitter allowed users to browse a selection of tweets without being logged in, and reports suggest that Dorsey could eventually do away with the 140-character cap the service is famous for.
