Aston Martin bringing style and sophistication to electric cars

Aston Martin is gearing up to enter the electric car market and has enlisted the help of two Silicon Valley firms to fulfil these ambitions.

The luxury vehicle maker has teamed up with Chinese company LeEco and promising startup Faraday Future, Digital Spy reports citing Reuters.

Faraday Future stole the show at CES with its FFZERO1 Concept vehicle, a car that is part Batmobile, part futuristic speed machine.

The trio will collaborate on an all-electric version of Aston Martin's Rapide S, an 800-horsepower saloon with a 200-mile range.

"It brings Aston Martin's electric car project forward," Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer told a news conference in Frankfurt.

Aston Martin is reportedly aiming to have the electric Rapide S roadworthy by 2018.
