Ameriabank, Ucom launch TV Banking service in ArmeniaFebruary 23, 2016 - 17:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Ameriabank and Ucom announced Tuesday, February 23 the launch of Ameria TV Banking, a unique service of online transaction processing. The new product enables making utility payments in a convenient, simple and fast way. Subscribers to any U!TV package, who also happen to be Ameriabank account holders, can make the payments through a TV remote control. Ameria TV Banking service enables checking out utility bills debts, making group payments, viewing billing history and Ameriabank's foreign currency exchange rates of the day, as well as finding addresses of the bank's branches and ATMs. "We have developed the Ameria TV Banking service together with Ucom, bearing the motto "Your bank is where you want it to be" in mind," Ameriabank's Retail Banking Director Arman Barseghyan said. According to him, Ameriabank has already collaborated with Ucom in the past, having created a joint credit card with preferential terms. Barseghyan expressed confidence that the new initiative will gain popularity among the public, paving the way for further collaboration. Ameriabank attaches great importance to the introduction of remote service in Armenia, he noted. Director of Marketing and Communications at Ucom Tigran Safaryan, in turn, mentioned that the joint initiative aims to relieve the subscribers' routine, creating an alternative for faster and easier payments. "This is an unprecedented service in Armenia, sure to soon become one of the most in-demand ones," Safaryan stressed. In response to a question on the system's security guarantees, member of Ameriabank's Board of Directors, Director of Technology and Operations Burastan Movsisyan said that U-com has developed a special software program to provide absolute security for the project. In order to ensure uninterrupted operation of the service, integration and system testing works have been performed, following the successful completion of which the service is being introduced in stages. All Ucom subscribers interested in using the service, can apply to the company, with new subscribers automatically getting access to TV Banking. According to an Ameria study of 21 banks in Armenia, only three banks do not offer online banking services for individuals.
