Horror villains meet in "The Ring vs. The Grudge" trailer (video) February 26, 2016 - 11:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - While "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is gaining major buzz as the mash-up superhero movie of the year, Japanese Studio Kadokawa has decided to mesh together two famous horror film franchises "The Ring" and "The Grudge" titled "The Ring vs. The Grudge". The movie is set to be release exclusively in Japanese theaters in June, AceShowbiz reports. In the announcement trailer, without English subtitles, released on Wednesday, February 24, horror fans can see the infamous VHS tape from "The Ring" finds itself in the hands of the homeowners of the creepy ghost-ridden house in "The Grudge" series. It is unclear whether or not Sadako and Kayako will be at battle with each other, or instead band together to wreak havoc on the living. Fans in the U.S. think "The Ring vs. The Grudge" could have a similar tune to "Freddy vs. Jason", which mesh together "A Nightmare on Elm Street" Freddy Krueger to "Friday the 13th" Jason Voorhees. Both films, "The Ring" and "The Grudge", were originally Japanese films titled "Ringu" and "Ju-On" respectively. Perhaps an Americanized version of the two horror villains collaborating is the next step for the fear-filled franchises.
