"X-Men: Apocalypse" unveils new star-studded poster

PanARMENIAN.Net - 20th Century Fox shows off the force that will become Professor X's problem in "X-Men: Apocalypse". The Four Horsemen assemble in the latest poster released for the Bryan Singer-directed film, AceShowbiz reports.

Apocalypse is the big baddie in the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" follow-up. The official synopsis reads, "Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's 'X-Men' universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible."

Set in the year of 1983, the pic will see Apocalypse attempting to demoralize human with the help of Storm, Angel, Psylocke and Magneto. At the other end, Raven with the help of Professor X must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy reprise their roles as Raven and Professor X respectively, supported by Sophie Turner and Kodi Smit-McPhee as younger versions of Jean Grey and Nightcrawler.

Olivia Munn's Psylocke and Michael Fassbender's Magneto had previously been debuted in Entertainment Weekly's cover which also featured Oscar Isaac's Apocalypse. The new poster has the tagline "Destroy" to accompany the appearance of Alexandra Shipp's Storm and Ben Hardy's Angel.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" hits U.S. theaters May 27.
