Christoph Waltz joins Matt Damon, Reese Witherspoon in “Downsizing”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz and “Inherent Vice” actress Hong Chau have signed on to join Oscar winners Matt Damon and Reese Witherspoon in Alexander Payne‘s comedy “Downsizing”, it was announced Thursday, March 10 by Paramount, according to TheWrap.

Payne wrote the screenplay with Jim Taylor and is producing through his Ad Hominem production company along with Gran Via Productions’ Mark Johnson. Taylor and Jim Burke will executive produce.

Waltz won Oscars for his supporting roles in “Django Unchained” and “Inglourious Basterds.” He recently starred in the James Bond film “Spectre” and can be seen next in this summer’s “The Legend of Tarzan” alongside Margot Robbie and Alexander Skarsgård, and “Tulip Fever” with Alicia Vikander and Cara Delevingne. Waltz is also set to make his directorial debut and star in “The Worst Marriage in Georgetown” later this year.

Chau made her feature film debut in Paul Thomas Anderson‘s “Inherent Vice.” Along with the film’s director, casting director and cast, she received the 2015 Robert Altman Award at the Film Independent Spirit Awards. Her most recent TV credits include the critically acclaimed HBO series “Treme” and the NBC series, “A TO Z.” She’s currently shooting HBO’s “Big Little Lies” alongside Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman.
