Drew Barrymore pairs up with Timothy Olyphant for Netflic comedyMarch 19, 2016 - 10:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Drew Barrymore is the latest actor who is making transition from movie to small screen. The 41-year-old actress/director/producer has signed up to headline a Netflix comedy titled "Santa Clarita Diet" alongside Timothy Olyphant, AceShowbiz reports. On the single-camera project, Barrymore and Olyphant will play Sheile and Joel, a married couple who are real estate agents leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita, until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending both their lives down a road of death and destruction ... but in a good way. The comedy hails from writer Victor Fresco ("Better Off Ted"). Netflix vp original content Cindy Holland said in a statement, "The genius casting of Timothy and Drew, combined with Victor's unique comedic sensibility, will delight, and definitely surprise, our members around the world." Fresco, Barrymore, Olyphant, Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan, Tracy Katsky, Chris Miller and Ember Truesdell will executive produce the Netflix original series. Episode count for the first season has not been determined yet. The new series is expected to premiere in 2017. The project marks Barrymore's first series regular role. She was last seen in drama comedy film "Miss You Already" (2015). Meanwhile, Olyphant was a lead actor on FX's acclaimed series "Justified" and has a recurring role on FOX's comedy "The Grinder".
