Neil Gaiman’s “American Gods” adds 3 cast members

PanARMENIAN.Net - Starz’s adaptation of “American Gods” have added Sean Harris, Yetide Badaki and Bruce Langley to its growing cast, TheWrap has learned.

Ricky Whittle stars in the adaptation of the Neil Gaiman novel, which portrays a war between the old gods of biblical and mythological roots and a new group of gods “reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs.”

Emily Browning and Ian McShane also star. Michael Green and Bryan Fuller will act as showrunners and executive producers, while David Slade will direct.

Harris plays Mad Sweeney, a down-on-his-luck leprechaun having a hard time understanding how he lost his charm and his way. Always up for a good fight, Sweeney is never deprived while in the employ of Mr. Wednesday (McShane).

Badaki plays Bilquis, an ancient goddess of love who craves the worship she inspired in eras long gone, and who is eager to find that same relevance in today’s world.

Langley will play Technical Boy, a New God who is purveyor of all things technology. Desperate to prove himself, and hungry for respect and power, he struggles to keep his impulsiveness and petulance in check, making him dangerously unpredictable.

Harris is known for his roles on shows including “The Borgias” and the 2012 Ridley Scott film “Prometheus.” Badaki most recently guest-starred on “Masters of Sex.” Langley makes his TV debut with “American Gods” after starting his career in theater.
