Comedy Central renews “Tosh.0,” “Drunk History” and more

PanARMENIAN.Net - Hitting the upfront market and about to launch several spring premieres, Inside Amy Schumer among them, Comedy Central on Tuesday, March 29 announced a slew of series renewals, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The network has reupped Tosh.0, Drunk History, This Is Not Happening and several digital series. Additionally, the network has confirmed a third and final season of Review, first reported by THR, and added 10 episodes onto the freshman run of Not Safe With Nikki Glaser.

The news is perhaps least surprising for Tosh.0, THR said. Aside from South Park, the show was Comedy Central's strongest primetime performer of 2015 — averaging 1.7 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49. The new order brings the Daniel Tosh-hosted series to its ninth season, with its already greenlighted summer run set for a June 7 bow. Drunk History, from Gary Sanchez Productions, will bring its anthology of inebriated narrators and celebrity reenactments back for a fourth season.

Comedy Central is clearly confident in upstart Not Safe With Nikki Glaser. The sex-focused talker will continue its first year with another 10 episodes from the comedian and self-proclaimed “curious perv.”

Review will be back for its final season, and Ari Shaffir's This Is Not Happening will enter its third run. On the digital side, Alternatino (starring Broad City actor Arturo Castro), Nothin's Easy and Questionable Science have all been reupped.

This batch of orders follows previously announced renewals for Broad City (seasons four and five), Inside Amy Schumer (season five), South Park (seasons 20-23) and Workaholics (seasons six and seven).
