"Blade Runner" sequel eyeing Robin Wright for key role

PanARMENIAN.Net - Robin Wright is near a deal to land a key role in the sequel of "Blade Runner". There are actually three major female roles in the movie and Robin is in negotiations to play one of them. The other two are yet cast, AceShowbiz said.

Variety, which was first to report Robin's involvement, said the actress was in final negotiations to join Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling in the untitled Blade Runner project. Ford is slated to reprise his role as replicant hunter Rick Deckard but Gosling's character is yet revealed. In an interview with Collider, Gosling said, "It's exciting. If I say anything more there's a chip in me that will explode."

The sequel picks up several decades after the conclusion of the 1982 original, which was set in a dystopian 2019 Los Angeles. Script is written by Hampton Fancher,a co-writer of the original, and Michael Green based on a story by Fancher and Ridley Scott. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the film will hit theaters January 12, 2018. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in July.
