Armenia ready to provide military support to Artsakh: Defense Ministry

PanARMENIAN.Net - First Deputy Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan met on Sunday, April 3, with military attachés of foreign embassies, accredited in Armenia.

During the meeting, the sides held a briefing about the current situation on the Karabakh contact line, discussing Karabakh Defense Army's steps to stop Azerbaijan's aggressive actions. Also, the meeting addressed possible reasons behind Baku's hostilities and Azerbaijan's expectations from these developments.

According to Tonoyan, the Armenian side is prepared for any developments, even ready to provide direct military assistance to the Artsakh Republic.

On the night of April 1-2, Azerbaijani armed forces initiated overt offensive operations in the southern, southeastern and northeastern directions of the line of contact with Nagorno Karabakh, using artillery, armored fighting vehicles and air force equipment among other weapons.

As many as 18 Karabakh servicemen were killed and 35 were wounded in the course of military operations.

On April 2-3, the Azerbaijani side has lost 14 tanks and over 5 armored vehicles, including an IFV, as well as 2 military helicopters and 2 unmanned aerial vehicles.

One Karabakh tank has been destroyed so far.
