1st look at Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis in "The Mummy" rebootApril 6, 2016 - 13:13 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Universal's "The Mummy" has begun its production and now we've got the first look at Tom Cruise as the new lead of the rebooted franchise, AceShowbiz said. The "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" actor was spotted filming a night scene for the new movie in Oxford, England on Tuesday, April 5. Sporting a long sleeve shirt and dark pants, Cruise wasn't alone as he was joined by co-star Annabelle Wallis. She was wearing a white shirt and gray jeans. The two appeared to have a serious conversation on the street. During a break, the two bundled up in coats to keep themselves warm while sitting next to each other. In "The Mummy" reboot, Cruise stars as a special forces soldier, while Wallis plays an archaeologist slash scientist. Plot details are still scarce, but Sofia Boutella has been cast as the gender-bending titular monster. Jon Spaihts wrote the script and Alex Kurtzman is directing. Kurtzman also executive produces it along with Chris Morgan and Sean Daniel. The horror movie is slated for a June 9, 2017 release in the United States.
