Samsung Galaxy S8 tipped to tout a foldable display

PanARMENIAN.Net - Thought the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge was the bomb with its curved edged display? Yeah, well think again. According to recent reports, next year's Samsung Galaxy S8 could take things one-step further with a foldable display, Digital Spy said.

Widely seen as the pinnacle of future smartphone design, folding screens would allow you to have a large viewing area, ideal for your latest Netflix & Chill session, within a device that can still fit comfortably in the pocket of your skinny jeans, Digtal Spy said.

This futuristic tech is reportedly a lot closer than you might expect, with claimed Samsung insiders telling Korean outlet ET News that the 2017-tipped Galaxy S8 could sport the innovative display.

Adding fuel to the fire, earlier this year Lee Chang-hoon, director of Samsung's display division, stated that the company's foldable panel efforts were nearing the mass-production stage.

"Development of foldable OLED is taking place according to our plan," he said. "We are planning on mass-production and release of this product by discussing with our partners."
