Peter Dinklage, John Hawkes join “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing”

PanARMENIAN.Net - “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage, “Manchester by the Sea” breakout Lucas Hedges and Oscar-nominated actor John Hawkes have joined the cast of Fox Searchlight and Film4’s “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” TheWrap has exclusively learned.

Martin McDonagh is directing the film, which stars Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, Abbie Cornish and Caleb Landry Jones.

McDormand plays a mother whose daughter was raped and murdered. Furious that the police in Ebbing, Missouri, haven’t caught the killer, she pays for three local billboards lambasting law enforcement officials and goading them into action.

Harrelson will play the sheriff, while Rockwell will be his hot-headed protégé. Cornish will portray Harrelson’s wife, while Landry Jones will play the billboard salesman.

Hedges will play McDormand’s son, Hawkes will portray her ex-husband and Dinklage will play a local with a crush on her.

Blueprint Pictures’ Graham Broadbent and Peter Czernin will produce “Three Billboards” with McDonagh. Film4 is co-financing with Fox Searchlight, which has worldwide distribution rights.

Dinklage just hosted “Saturday Night Live” and returns for the sixth season of HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” which debuts April 24. He and Hawkes previously co-starred in the indie “Low Down,” and he’ll be seen opposite Melissa McCarthy in Universal’s comedy “The Boss,” which hits theaters this weekend. He’s represented by CAA, Insight and Jackoway Tyerman.

An Oscar nominee for “Winter’s Bone,” Hawkes recently starred in “Everest” and can currently be seen as a private detective in the indie gem “Too Late.” He’s represented by Innovative Artists, Thruline Entertainment and attorney Todd Rubenstein of Morris Yorn.

Hedges first gained attention as a bullying scout in Wes Anderson‘s “Moonrise Kingdom” before working with directors such as Jason Reitman and Terry Gilliam and eventually playing Jeremy Renner‘s son in “Kill the Messenger.” He next stars as Casey Affleck‘s nephew in Kenneth Lonergan’s acclaimed drama “Manchester by the Sea,” which Amazon acquired out of Sundance.
