Armenian athletes win gold, silver at European Weightlifting Championships

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian weightlifter Andranik Karapetyan won gold at the European Championships on Wednesday, April 13, with Tigran Martirosyan gaining a silver medal.

10 athletes from Albania, Bulgaria, Germany, Romania, Poland, Spain and Armenia competed in the 77 kg weight class of the Norway-hosted Championships.

Karapetyan lifted a total of 367 kg above his head; Martirosyan's result was 352 kg overall.

Earlier, Armenia's Kristine Petrosyan took the 5th spot in women’s 63 kg weight class, lifting 207 kg above her head.
