Armenian-American relations considerably deepened

PanARMENIAN.Net - February 16 Secretary of the Security Council at the RA President, Defense Minister Serge Sargsyan met with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense James McDougal. U.S. Charge d'Affairs Anthony Godfrey was also present at the meeting, RA Defense Minister's Spokesman Seyran Shahsuvaryan told PanARMENIAN.Net During the meeting the Armenian Minister noted that the Armenian-American relations considerably deepened, especially during the recent three-four years. James McDougal, who is completing his mission, thanked Minister Sargsyan for efficient cooperation in the defense sector.



When referring to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement and assessing highly the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group Serge Sargsyan voiced assurance that means for a peaceful solution have not been exhausted yet.



The parties discussed the current stage of the Armenia-U.S. military cooperation and prospects of its development. Mr McDougal estimated highly the military skills of the Armenian peacekeepers in Iraq.
