Anne Hathaway making a movie version of “Grounded” drone-war playMay 6, 2016 - 13:41 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Anne Hathaway is taking her 2015 stage performance "Grounded" to the big screen. The Oscar-winning actress will star in and produce the film adaptation of the George Brant celebrated play. She appeared in the off-Broadway production directed by Julie Taymor last year, AceShowbiz said. Anne is producing "Grounded" with Suzan Bymel and Ben Forkner of Entertainment 360, and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, which is financing the movie. George is adapting his script for the screen. Sidney Kimmel's president of production Carla Hacken has previously worked with Anne in 20th Century Fox's "The Devil Wears Prada", "Bride Wars" and "Love and Other Drugs". According to Variety, Anne was so enthusiastic about the material that she locked up the film rights before her first performance at the Public Theater in New York. "Grounded" tells the story of a conflicted American Air Force pilot tasked with operating an unmanned drone. Anne earned a nomination for a Critics Circle Award for her stage role.
