VivaCell-MTS, Fuller Center launch much-anticipated housing project 2016

PanARMENIAN.Net - The 2016 housing project implemented jointly by Fuller Center for Housing Armenia and VivaCell-MTS launched in the village of Margara of Armavir province with the construction of a house for the Gevorgyan family.

This is the 100th milestone house being built with VivaCell-MTS' financial investment.

In the framework of the housing project, the partnering organizations have a clear vision to assist families by improving their housing conditions and giving them the opportunity to raise their children in decent housing conditions, VivaCell-MTS said.

A few days ago, VivaCell-MTS and Fuller Center for Housing Armenia were still summing up the results of last year’s housing project. They're now helping another family to build their dream home.

The Gevorgyan family of 7 has lived in a collapse-prone two-room earth lodge without basic housing conditions.

“I have dreamed of a decent home all my life. Years ago, my father started the construction of our house. After he passed away, I tried to continue the construction but could not complete it. Now I have my own family; I’m a father of four and I do want my children to grow up in a healthy environment. My family income covers only the daily expenses. Many thanks to both organizations for making the dream of my family a reality,” said the father of the family, Hovhannes.

“Today is a special day: the housing program and our successful cooperation continues,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian. “It is both a pleasure and a matter of concern. This program solves a major problem for already the 100th family. However, we are most concerned with the fact that there are still families who are deprived of homes. And they need to be supported too.”

“It has become a nice tradition to work with our major housing donor and best partner. This year VivaCell-MTS invested around AMD 105 mln for the housing project (AMD 100mln in 2015). This is the beginning of a new life for 41 families,’’ said Ashot Yeghiazaryan, Fuller Center for Housing Armenia President.

In the framework of the housing project, 93 families have benefited from the financial support of VivaCell-MTS since 2007. This year the total number will reach 134.
