Armenia only EEU country to register economic growth in 2015: officialMay 12, 2016 - 18:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia was the only Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member state to register an economic growth last year, an EEU Board member, Minister for Development of Integration and Macroeconomics said Thursday, May 12, Tert.am reports. According to Tatyana Valovaya, Armenia’s EEU membership also accounts for the economy’s consistent growth. “Last year, Armenia saw positive ecnomic change which continued this year as well,” she said. Commenting on Armenia’s steps to increase exports, Valovaya said the country meets all the necessary conditions. “Both business environment and ample opportunities are available for exporting goods on easy terms to Russia and other countries. Many Armenian companies have already taken advantage of these opportunities,” she said. Armenia’s exports to Belarus showed a 45% hike in the first two months of 2016 against the same period last year, Valovaya noted. Armenia’s exports to Kyrgyzstan saw a fourfold increase, while those to Russia doubled, the official added.
