Karabakh summit in Vienna is a positive fact: EU rep. in Baku

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Vienna-hosted meeting between Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is a very positive fact, head of EU Delegation in Azerbaijan Malena Mard told reporters in Baku on Wednesday, May 18, APA reports.

“We support the decision on taking various measures, investigating incidents, planning “a road map” for comprehensive peace negotiations and a second meeting of the presidents in the near future,” Mard said.

The EU delegation head said there is no military solution to the [Nagorno-Karabakh] conflict.

The conflict must be resolved through peaceful negotiations, with the Presidents and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs playing a key role, she stressed.

Mard also recalled the meetings of EU High Representative Federica Mogherini with the Presidents of both countries. “She expressed desire to get actively involved in the issue and cooperate with the OSCE Minsk Group,” Mard concluded.
