Monica Bellucci to guest star in “Mozart in the Jungle” Amazon seriesJune 3, 2016 - 17:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Monica Bellucci (Spectre) has signed on for a guest starring role in the third season of Amazon’s original series Mozart in the Jungle, Deadline reports. Bellucci will play Alessandra, an iconic opera star who will become Rodrigo’s (Gael Garcia Bernal) next great collaborator. Alessandra is as famous for her passionate performances as she is for her erratic life off the stage. After years away from the spotlight, she enlists Rodrigo to conduct her grand return performance. Based on Blaire Tindall’s memoir Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs & Classical Music, the series starring Garcia Bernal and Lola Kirke draws back the curtain at the New York Symphony, where artistic dedication and creativity collide with mind games, politicking and survival instincts. Season 3 will continue the story of the talented musicians who perform and live with passion under the baton of its spirited conductor – Rodrigo, and will see many of the musicians take their talents to Europe. Saffron Burrows, Malcolm McDowell and Bernadette Peters also star. The praised series won the 2016 Golden Globe for Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical for Garcia Bernal. Mozart in the Jungle is executive produced by Roman Coppola, Jason Schwartzman and Paul Weitz. Season 3 will begin production later this month.
