1st look at Tom Cruise and Cobie Smulders in “Jack Reacher 2”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Two new photos from "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back" have been released by Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media. The pictures offer first look at Tom Cruise and Cobie Smulders' characters, Jack Reacher and Susan Turner respectively, AceShowbiz said.

In the first photo, Jack and Susan can be seen surveying what looks like Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Jack wears a black leather jacket with a cut on his face. Susan, meanwhile, dons a brown leather jacket with her hair tied up.

The second image, obtained by PEOPLE, shows Jack seemingly being interrogated by two sheriff officers, played by Judd Lormand and Jason Douglas. Both of Jack's hands are tied behind his back. He has another cut on his face and blood stains on his white shirt.

"Jack Reacher 2" director Edward Zwick tells the mag of working with Tom, "I've never seen anybody more prepared both physically and mentally than Tom. He's tireless and unbelievably focused." Edward says the sequel explores new aspects of Jack and his relationships with those around him.

According to the director, it would be boring to be Tom's stuntman as the actor did it all by himself. "It's a pretty boring job to be Tom's stunt double," Edward jokes, "He did all of his own stunts. It's almost a hallmark of what he does. He does every bit of it himself."

"Jack Reacher: Never Go Back", also starring Danika Yarosh, Aldis Hodge, Patrick Heusinger, Holt McCallany and Robert Knepper, is coming to U.S. theaters on October 21.
