Oscar-nommed Jacki Weaver joins Jack Black bio “The Polka King”June 25, 2016 - 17:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Jacki Weaver is getting on her dancing shoes for The Polka King, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. The Oscar-nominated actress will join Jack Black in the true-life story of Grammy-nominated Polka sensation Jan Lewan, who ended up running a Soviet souvenir-based Ponzi scheme that landed him in jail. The story is based on the documentary The Man Who Would Be Polka King from directors Joshua Brown and John Mikulak. Black will star as Lewan and will also act as a producer under his Electric Dynamite banner. Ben Stiller’s Red Hour and Shivani Rawat’s ShivHans Pictures will also produce, along with Priyanka Mattoo. Infinitely Polar Bear director Maya Forbes and former Simpsons writer Wally Wolodarsky will write and direct the movie, which is repped by ICM Partners and WME Global. Weaver was recently in Woody Allen's Magic in the Moonlight and David O. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook.
