Jean Reno’s “Adventurers” to shoot in Czech Republic

PanARMENIAN.Net - Stephen Fung’s Hong Kong production “The Adventurers”, starring Jean Reno and Andy Lau, is set to shoot in the Czech Republic, Variety reports.

One of a dozen projects announced in March by Flagship Entertainment — the joint venture between Warner Bros., China Media Capital and broadcaster TVB — “The Adventurers” is a treasure hunt actioner set in France and the Czech Republic. Taiwanese actress Shu Qi also stars.

Terence Chang’s Mannix Pictures is producing the film, with Prague-based Milk and Honey Pictures co-producing. The pic will shoot this summer at Prague Studios and in and around the Czech capital, Karlovy Vary, Lednice, Bouzov and other locations through September.

The production will spend at least CZK 200 million ($8.2 million) in the country, according to the Czech State Cinematography Fund.

Reno, who is attending this year’s Karlovy Vary Film Festival to accept the Festival President’s Award, has shot a number of projects in the Czech Republic, most recently last year, when he filmed the third instalment of Jean-Marie Poire’s “The Visitors” time-traveling comedy franchise.

Milk and Honey Pictures focuses primarily on international co-productions, both films and TV series, including Jinglei Xu’s “Somewhere Only We Know,” the first Chinese feature film made in the Czech Republic.
