The group, known as Sasna Tsrer, demands that fellow member and founder of the Founding Parliament Jirair Sefilian be released from jail. Sefilian was arrested on June 20, as he and a group of people had planned to seize premises and communication facilities, including the Yerevan TV tower. Two of the hostages were set free following the National Security Service's operative measures, the NSS said in a statement. The Armenian law enforcement authorities control the situation and take all the necessary measures to bring the hostage situation to a close. Also, the NSS urged media outlets to disseminate only official information.
