“Chronic”, 2015 Cannes favorite, gets release date, trailer

PanARMENIAN.Net - Chronic, the 2015 Cannes favorite that won the best screenplay award and was written and directed by Mexican filmmaker Michel Franco (After Lucia, Daniel and Ana), has finally found its way into U.S. theaters and will bow September 23, Deadline said.

The story centers on David (Tim Roth), an in-home nurse who works with terminally ill patients. Efficient and dedicated to his profession, David develops strong, even intimate, relationships with each person he cares for. But outside of his work, David is ineffectual, awkward and reserved, and he needs each patient as much as they need him. This is one of the rare films that has been produced about caretakers and the burden that they carry.

The film was written, directed and produced by Franco and produced by Gabriel Ripstein, Moisés Zonana, and Gina Kwon. The film went to Cannes in 2015 to high acclaim, including from Deadline’s own Pete Hammond. This engaging film also stars Sarah Sutherland and Claire van der Boom.
