Meryl Streep wants Amy Schumer to portray her in bioAugust 16, 2016 - 14:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A future Meryl Streep biopic almost seems inevitable… but could it star Amy Schumer? When asked during an interview with the Huffington Post who she’d want to portray her in a film about her life, Streep threw the prominent comedian’s name in the ring, Variety said. “Amy Schumer, of course,” Streep said without hesitation. Streep’s idea didn’t fall on deaf ears. Schumer, the star of “Inside Amy Schumer,” responded on Twitter shortly after. “Holy S–t,” Schumer tweeted, retweeting a link to the article. While Schumer made her name mostly with stand-up and sketch comedy, she last year wrote and starred in “Trainwreck,” a comedy about a commitment-phobic career woman whose life is turned upside down when she finds her ideal guy. Its impressive box office performance cemented Schumer as a bankable star on the big screen. Streep can currently be seen in biopic “Florence Foster Jenkins.” She plays the titular woman, a New York heiress who dreamed of becoming an opera singer, despite having a terrible singing voice.
