Amy Adams faces alien invasion mystery in “Arrival” trailer (video) August 16, 2016 - 22:22 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Amy Adams is dealing face to face with the mystery of a massive alien invasion on Earth in the first full-length trailer for Paramount’s “Arrival”, Variety said. “There are days that define your story beyond life, like the day they arrived,” she intones at the start. Adams plays an expert linguist who is called by the U.S. government to communicate with mysterious spacecrafts that have touched down — possibly provoking a global war with the aliens. “You’re at the top of everyone’s list when it comes to translations,” she’s told as she’s picked up at her house. “They need to see me,” she says as she takes off her protective gear. “We need to make sure that they understand the difference between a weapon and a tool,” she tells her colleagues at one point. “Language is messy.” Forest Whitaker, Jeremy Renner and Michael Stuhlbarg also star. “Sicario” director Denis Villeneuve directs from an Eric Heisserer script, adapted from Ted Chiang’s short story, on which the film is based. “Arrival” premieres in theaters on Nov. 11.
