Turkey to reconstruct Diyarbakir Armenian church

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian Catholic church of Diyarbakir, Turkey will be reconstructed, Istanbul-based newspaper Agos reports.

Situated in the district of Sur, the church sustained major damage in the wake of large-scale military operations that hit the city starting from last September.

The reconstruction works are set to conclude in 2018, the building belongs to Turkey’s General Directorate of Foundations.

As many as 1277 edifices have been partially destroyed or demolished during military actions in Sur, the Human rights defender’s Diyarbakir office said in a statement.
