Baby Strange indie rock band to release their debut album

PanARMENIAN.Net - Baby Strange will release their debut album, Want It Need It, via Ignition Records on September 2, Gigwise said.

“The Glaswegian three piece first came onto our radar the day they played their first Radio X session for John Kennedy two years ago. They had a demo version of one of the album stand outs, 'Pure Evil', out. From that it was just obvious that they were destined for big things.

It's not like they sat and waited for success to come to them, though. After gathering early hype off their first ever recordings they've been cutting about in a clipper all over the country, and continually writing new songs.

By last year, they landed a record deal with Ignition and started to play the country's biggest festivals, support the country's biggest bands, and get into the best studios to record. Most recently, they've headlined the Jack Rocks stage at Reading.

All this groundwork has meant that they can go to pretty much any town in the country, headline a show, and get the same ecstatic reaction from their audience as they do in their home city of Glasgow. They regularly make it look like the spirit of 1977 punk shows is still kicking,” Gigwise said.

Impressively, the album captures the raucous, brash, attitude of the shows. Of the experiences that inform their songs the singer tells Gigwise: "It was unintentional but something I noticed about a bunch of the songs is they're based around nightlife in Glasgow. When we wrote the majority of the record, we were partying a lot. It's something that we do most weekends so it's better to write about that than sitting in your room bored."

Beyond being quite personal record there is another seedy side to it: "There's a track called 'VVV' and the chorus to that is: She just violates me . It's kinda like a sexy songs almost,. When I wrote that I felt like I was stepping into a character.
