R.E.M share previously unheard “Radio Song” demo

PanARMENIAN.Net - R.E.M have shared a previously unheard demo of 'Radio Song' ahead of the 'Out of Time' 25th anniversary reissue, NME reports.

The demo is set to feature on the reissue set to be released on November 11 via Concord Bicycle. The demo version of 'Radio Song' sees the removal of the synthesizer sounds and the KRS-One rap.

'Out Of Time' – which featured the hit singles 'Losing My Religion' and 'Shiny Happy People' - was released in 1991 and saw the band become globally acclaimed. It was followed a year after by 'Automatic For The People', which, like 'Out Of Time', was Number One on the UK Albums Chart.

The 4-disc deluxe version comes with an additional live recording of a 1991 show at Mountain Stage and a Blu-Ray disc that contains hi-resolution audio and 5.1 Surround Sound versions of Out of Time, all the album’s music videos, and the 1991 electronic press kit 'Time Piece', which includes a collection of studio and performance footage.

The reissue will also come with liner notes by journalist Annie Zaleski that features interviews with all four band members and the album’s producers Scott Litt and John Keane.

R.E.M recently reissued three of their classic albums to vinyl on July 29. 1986’s 'Lifes Rich Pageant', 1987’s 'Dead Letter Office' and 1988’s 'Eponymous' were released via Capitol Records/Universal Music Enterprises.

'Lifes Rich Pageant' was the first R.E.M. album to reach Gold certification and was previously treated to a 25th anniversary reissue back in 2011. The band officially broke up in 2011 after 31 years together.
