Samsung “preparing to launch a new tablet”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Samsung could be on the verge of releasing an entirely new slate to its range. There's just one thing - nobody really knows what it is, Digital Spy said.

A Samsung tablet with the previously unseen model number 'SM-T587P' has been benchmarked via Geekbench, potentially showing us that a completely new addition to the budget Galaxy Tab E range will soon be available.

According to the test results, which were first revealed by PhoneArena, the tablet will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip, 2GB RAM and Android 6.0.1 OS.

The outlet also suggests that previous Galaxy Tab E series devices have featured similar model numbers, meaning the mystery slate could be a follow-on device.

The unknown tablet, due to its model number, doesn't appear to be the long-awaited Galaxy Tab S3. The company was expected to drop the new tablet this summer, and then later alongside the Galaxy Note 7.

With it also not appearing at this month's IFA tech trade show in Berlin, the future remains unclear for the device.
