Twitter rolls out new app for live-streaming videoSeptember 15, 2016 - 15:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - With Twitter looking to replicate the video-related success of Facebook and grow its army of users, the platform has launched a new app for live-streaming video on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Xbox One, Digital Spy reports. The app will offer all the live-streaming content on the social network, including video from both Periscope and Vine - meaning chopped sports highlights and the classic WHY?! Vine are never too far away, Digital Spy said. The move comes on the eve of the company's big foray into the streaming game - the first of 10 Thursday night NFL games, between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills. Anthony Noto, Twitter's chief financial officer, said in a statement: "Twitter has always been a great complement to TV, and now fans can enjoy even more premium video with live Tweets - and the best content on Twitter - right from their TVs. "We're excited to introduce this new experience to people, without requiring a paywall or having to log in to Twitter." Viewers will be able to browse their timeline as they watch live-streamed games, as they could in the test-run during Wimbledon. This means you'll never have to look more than half a screen away to see what everyone's saying about the game, Digital Spy said.
