"Ghost in the Shell" teasers feature Scarlett Johansson (video) September 22, 2016 - 11:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Paramount Pictures dropped a series of teaser trailers for "Ghost in the Shell" during the Wednesday night, September 21 broadcast of "Mr. Robot" season finale. The first footage of the live-action adaptation of the popular Japanese manga series offers a close look at Scarlett Johansson as the lead character, the Major, AceShowbiz said. The teasers don't reveal a lot about the plot, but each of the around-13-second videos shows mysterious and interesting facet of the upcoming movie. The Major can be seen in one of the videos stumbling across something dangerous. Another video offers a glimpse of Takeshi Kitano's Daisuke Aramaki coolly firing a gun. Based on Masmune Shirow's manga series, "Ghost in the Shell" follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic's advancements in cyber technology. Directed by Rupert Sanders ("Snow White and the Huntsman") from a script written by "Straight Outta Compton" scribe Jonathan Herman, the upcoming action thriller also stars Sam Riley, Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbaek, Rila Fukushima and Michael Wincott.
