French MP plants tree at Armenian Genocide memorial

PanARMENIAN.Net - French MP François Rochebloine accompanied by the head of Armenian Parliament’s Armenia-France Friendship Group Ara Babloyan visited Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide memorial on Wednesday, September 28.

As the press service of the National Assembly reports, the guests laid flowers at the eternal flame and paid tribute to the memory of the 1.5 million martyrs of the massacres.

Afterwards, they visited the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute to watch the exhibits, while Rochebloine left a note in the Book of Guests and planted a fir-tree in the Memory Alley.

“I would like to stress that this tree is planted not only on my behalf, but also on behalf of all the French MPs who voted for the bill on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide,” Rochebloine said.
